After the radiotherapy, hydrocephalus developed and I suffered from symptoms without knowing. Such as headaches, nausea, worsened balance and general confusion. This lasted for a few weeks and instead of happily returning to the UK, I stayed in Czech for a bit longer.
The situation worsened and I had emergency shunt surgery. It was pretty sucky but I underwent the operation on Friday and Sunday, fortunately, went home. It improved so much dramatically. My appetite came back (I took corticosteroids) and overall most things improved apart from my balance so we had to buy a wheelchair.
If you want to read more about how this all affected my mental health, life changing events, problem swallowing, supplements etc. Do let me know. 🙂
