Optimist/pessimist: why does it matter?

There are two types of people. Those who pee while having a shower and those who lie about it.

Equally, there are two types of outlook on life. One that sees life as a great miracle, obstacles as a way to learn and to find new paths. And then those who think we are all doomed, it will just be worse and that most people are vicious beasts out there to get us.

I used to think that I was a part of the second group. However, going through my old photos, school reports and the recent development, proved me otherwise.

I’ve always had a few kind, very loyal, accepting (good looking) friends.

I have always been very lucky (regarding when I was born, where, how, to whom).

There are many things I love: food, beach, music, writing, researching, listening, dinosaurs, dogs and (some) people.

Some I dislike: white trousers, pretentious idiots, cold, vegans, obese people, Boris J.

I’ve always used humour to connect with people (across countries and ages), overcome difficult situations and entertain others.

I have always seen a light in the darkness even in the bleakest of moments.

So yeah, I am an optimist. I’m also a realist with many positive traits.

I wanted to write this for a long time, but only today found the right words. Gosh, I’m old.
