I don’t like the word DIET. I have never been on any to loose weight and I’m not planning to do so. However, I did try a number of different things to control the diagnosis.
Long story short, I came across keto, and started doing it properly in January 2019. I significantly reduced carbs, cut out any processed carbs, increased my intake of protein and fat. Overall, I felt good and my skin visibly improved. Plus, I met many interesting people, made some new friendships and broaden my knowledge about nutrition and cancer metabolism. So great experience!
Unfortunately, it didn’t really slow the growth and the tumour kept increasing in size. It was difficult to eat keto during the radiotherapy as I became sensitive to smells, particularly meat, eggs, … As a result of the overall decrease of appetite, rise of nausea and fatique, I lost a lot of weight.
The sensitivity to smells and overall weakness lead to me having 46kg. That was my biggest low. Thankfully, many things improved.
Keto is a great approach to eating and can do wonders for people with epilepsy, MS, auto-immune diseases, diabetes and so much more. I have eventually decided to discontinue. Now, I am more paleo. But, I also don’t limit myself too much. I am eating reasonably and mostly healthy. I believe, one ought to assess priorities and realise what makes us content. I made a conscious decision to make sure that food keeps bringing me joy, I enjoy and savour it. I think, we should eat what makes us feel good. Always.
Next, I’d like to write about my breakfasts, dinners and snacks.
I have been eating lo-carb hi-fat for the last several years but I plan to ask my neurosurgeon about keto on Wednesday. I have already given up frivolous carbs like sugar, pasta, rice and potatoes but the hardest thing to say goodbye to will be beer. I love a pint of beer by the harbour in the evening π’
Iβm semi-convinced by the research about the metabolic origins of cancer and figure that it probably wonβt hurt to give it a try.

the research is very convincing. Less effective for females I think. My problem is that I enjoy food too much and it is my way to enjoy life. Still try to reduce carbs and sugar but don’t restrict myself too much

I love food too but I have never been into carbs or sweets. I prefer fish & octopus & steak & rich creamy sauces. I think keto would not be much of a stretch for me (except for the beer).
